What We Believe

GOD CREATED US TO KNOW AND GLORIFY HIM
(Isaiah 43:6,7) God made us to worship and love Him. He made us to magnify His greatness as a telescope magnifies the stars. ALL OF US HAVE FAILED TO GLORIFY GOD AS WE SHOULD (Romans 3:23) None of us has trusted and treasured God as we should. We have sought our ultimate satisfaction in other things. We have treated them as more valuable than God, which is idolatry (Romans 1:21-23). We have all sinned and this is evidenced in our seeking to live independently of God. Our sin separates and alienates us from God and others. We turn to other things to fill the emptiness in our lives. GOD SENT HIS SON JESUS TO PURCHASE ETERNAL LIFE FOR ALL WHO BELIEVE (1 Timothy 1:15) The Good News is that Christ, Who is the eternal God-Man, died for sinners like us. He rose physically from the grave proving His claim to have power over death and to open eternal life and joy for all who believe (John 3:16). WE MUST TURN FROM OUR SIN AND TRUST CHRIST ALONE FOR SALVATION "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out" (Acts 3:19) We do not earn our salvation. We cannot merit it. Saving faith is resting and relying on Christ alone for your salvation as He is offered in the Gospel (Ephesians 2:8,9). It is transferring your trust for eternal life from yourself - your own goodness - to Christ and what He has done to purchase your salvation. |
