*PRAISE SONGS                       Lead On O King Eternal

It Is Well With My Soul (2021 Global Hymn Sing)

All: Most Holy God, our heavenly Father, we confess that You have redeemed us by Your sovereign grace. At one time we were dead in our trespasses and sins. We were blind and could not see.  But, Father, You are rich in mercy. You caused us to be born again to a living hope. You sought us when we were strangers. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. It is not that we sought You, Father; rather, we confess freely that it was you who sought us. And You have called us to seek others as we have been sought. You have commanded us to preach the gospel to every creature. And, we have not sought others as we have been sought by You. Often, we have not even cared. Our silence is sin. Our coldness is dishonoring to You. Forgive us, Father. Wash us afresh in the blood of the Lamb. And renew us by the Holy Spirit such that we will be changed into those who are burdened by the plight of the lost – a plight that we ourselves once were in. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON                                                           1 John 1:7

THE OFFERING                                                                           Galatians 5:16-17

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.”

For 2021, we are continuing to provide a basic Family Worship plan to help enable our families to more regularly worship together during the week. In each weekly bulletin, we will provide a Daily Bible Reading plan from “A Daughter of the Reformation”, weekly questions from the Heidelberg Catechism, and a hymn for you to learn together.

Week 42:

Weekly Hymn:   324 Christ Is Coming!

Heidelberg Catechism–

Q67 Are both the word and the sacraments then intended to focus our faith on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross as the only ground of our salvation?

Answer: Yes! In the gospel the Holy Spirit teaches us and by the holy sacraments confirms that our entire salvation rests on Christ’s one sacrifice for us on the cross.

Q68 How many sacraments did Christ institute in the New Testament?

Answer: Two: holy baptism and the holy supper.
