Week 9, 2021

Order of Worship

Sunday, February 28, 2021

We extend a warm welcome to all our visitors this morning! Visitors, please complete the Welcome card in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate, so we may know how best to minister to/with you. Let’s prepare our hearts with silent Bible reading, meditation, and prayer before the service begins.

PRAISE (We Acknowledge God’s Majesty)

PRELUDE                                                      Children’s Choir

*HYMN OF PRAISE             Dawning Light Of Our Salvation

*CALL TO WORSHIP                                         Psalm 145:8-13a

Leader: The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

All: The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. All your works shall give thanks to you, OLord, and all your saints shall bless you!

Leader: They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

All: Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.

*PRAISE SONGS       Magnificent, Marvelous, Matchless Love

                                           Christ Is Mine Forevermore

All: Faithful Lord, we confess that we have walked by sight and not by faith. We have served in our own strength instead of the strength which you supply; we have relied on our own resources rather than trusting You to provide; we have been consumed by worry, guilt, and restlessness because we seek to control our own lives rather than resting and relying on You for everything that we need for life and godliness. Yet we know that even when we are faithless, You will remain faithful for You cannot deny Yourself. Father, forgive us for our lack of faith, and by the power of Your Spirit work in us true and genuine faith. Grant us zealous hearts, fervent devotion, and tireless hope in the gospel. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON                         1 John 1:8-9

“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

CONSECRATION (We Surrender Our Lives to Christ)

*HYMN 100                         Holy, Holy, Holy

THE OFFERING                                                      Psalm 39:5

“Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath!”

* Doxology: Hymnal, p. 731

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host, praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Amen

Hearing assistance and large print pew Bibles are available during the worship service.  Please contact an usher for assistance.

Women in the Church –  All women are invited to participate in an upcoming new Women’s Bible study – Flourish – How the Love of Christ Frees Us from Self-Focus by Lydia Brownback.  A quick overview of the book “Flourish equips us with tools to identify the lies that come at us about where to find real life. As we dig deep into what God says in his Word, we will learn to discern the worldly influences that threaten to warp our understanding of what it really means to be a Christian and emerge with a faith that flourishes―full of the abundant life Jesus promises.”

Our first Bible study will be on Saturday, March 20th at 9:00 am.  There are a total of 6 Chapters.  We will use Zoom video conferencing to conduct the study.  The study book is NOT available on Amazon, so **please let Christine Stalnaker or Susan Hauver know if you would like the book no later than March 7th so we can order them prior to the first study (there is homework.)

If you have any questions, please contact Christine Stalnaker (
