We extend a warm welcome to all our visitors this morning! Visitors, please complete the Welcome card in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate, so we may know how best to minister to/with you. Let’s prepare our hearts with silent Bible reading, meditation, and prayer before the service begins.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

All: O Lord, Length of days does not profit me except the days are passed in your presence, in your service, to your glory. Give me a grace that precedes, follows, guides, sustains, sanctifies, aids every hour, that I may not be one moment apart from you, but may rely on your Spirit to supply every thought, speak in every word, direct every step, prosper every work, build up every little bit of faith, and give me a desire to show forth your praise, testify your love, advance your kingdom.  I launch my ship on the unknown waters of this year, with you, O Father, as my harbor, you, O Son, at my helm, you, O Holy Spirit, filling my sails. Guide me to heaven with my loins girded, lamp burning, my ear open to your calls, my heart full of love, my soul free. Give me your grace to sanctify me, your comforts to cheer, your wisdom to teach, your right hand to guide, your counsel to instruct, your law to judge, your presence to stabilize. May your fear be my awe, your triumphs my joy.

For 2021, we are continuing to provide a basic Family Worship plan to help enable our families to more regularly worship together during the week. In each weekly bulletin, we will provide a Daily Bible Reading plan from “A Daughter of the Reformation”, weekly questions from the Westminster Shorter Catechism, and a hymn for you to learn together.

Week 1:

Weekly Hymn:   420 At the Lamb’s High Feast We Sing

Shorter Catechism–

  • Q105 What do we pray for in the fifth petition? /

Answer: In the fifth petition, which is, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, we pray that God, for Christ’s sake, would freely pardon all our sins; which we are the rather encouraged to ask, because by his grace we are enabled from the heart to forgive others.

  • Q106 What do we pray for in the sixth petition? /

Answer:  In the sixth petition, which is, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, we pray that God would either keep us from being tempted to sin, or support and deliver us when we are tempted.
