We extend a warm welcome to all our visitors this morning! Visitors, please complete the Welcome card in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate, so we may know how best to minister to/with you. Let’s prepare our hearts with silent Bible reading, meditation, and prayer before the service begins.

CORPORATE PRAYER OF CONFESSION

All: Gracious Lord, we confess that we dishonor you in our words, thoughts and deeds.  Depending on our strength, we stumble.  Glorying in our own  righteousness, we reject you. Turning our faces from you, we desire the things of this world to satisfy us.  We pray now, Lord, for you to forgive all of our many sins; to cleanse the darkness from our lives, and to turn our faces and our hearts back towards you. We pray these things in the name of your most precious son, Jesus Christ.

For 2021, we are continuing to provide a basic Family Worship plan to help enable our families to more regularly worship together during the week. In each weekly bulletin, we will provide a Daily Bible Reading plan from “A Daughter of the Reformation”, weekly questions from the Heidelberg Catechism, and a hymn for you to learn together.

Week 15:

Heidelberg Catechism–

  • Q25 Since there is only one God, why do you speak of three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? /

Answer: Because God has so revealed himself in his Word

that these three distinct persons are the one, true, eternal God.

  • Q26 What do you believe when you say:

I believe in God the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth? /

Answer: That the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who out of nothing created heaven and earth and all that is in them, and who still upholds and governs them by his eternal counsel and providence,  is, for the sake of Christ his Son, as to have no doubt that he will provide me with all things necessary for body and soul, and will also turn to my good whatever adversity he sends me my God and my Father. In him I trust so completely in this life of sorrow. He is able to do so as almighty God, and willing also as a faithful Father.
