We extend a warm welcome to all our visitors this morning! Visitors, please complete the Welcome card in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate, so we may know how best to minister to/with you. Let’s prepare our hearts with silent Bible reading, meditation, and prayer before the service begins.
PRAISE (We Acknowledge God’s Majesty)
PRELUDE
*HYMN OF PRAISE All My Ways are Known to You
*CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 9:7-11
The Lord sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness. The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds!
*PRAISE SONGS Altar Of God
The Lord Is My Salvation
*INVOCATION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: Gracious heavenly Father, We come confessing our blindness and stubbornness. We wanted a king and you sent Him, yet we denied Him because He did not fit our idea of what a king should be. Lord Jesus, you came in our flesh and we denied You. Your word says: “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” Forgive us for our idolatry. Forgive us for not recognizing or receiving Your perfect provision. Apart from the gracious work of the Holy Spirit in us, we would continue to deny Jesus. Open the gates and doors of our hearts to joyfully receive our Lord and Savior and truly be the children of God. We claim to be those born of God, forgive us for living in ways that deny our heritage.
SILENT CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF PARDON Romans 3:21-25
“But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.”

Shorter Catechism–
- Q33 What is justification? /
Answer: Justification is an act of God’s free grace, wherein he pardons all our sins, and accepts us as righteous in His sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and received by faith alone.
- Q34 What is adoption? /
Answer: Adoption is an act of God’s free grace, whereby we are received into the number, and have a right to all the privileges, of the sons of God.
