We extend a warm welcome to all our visitors this morning! Visitors, please complete the Welcome card in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate, so we may know how best to minister to/with you. Let’s prepare our hearts with silent Bible reading, meditation, and prayer before the service begins.
PRAISE (We Acknowledge God’s Majesty)
PRELUDE Christine Kiewit
*HYMN OF PRAISE Home
*CORPORATE CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 51:15-17
All: O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
*PRAISE SONGS Make Me Your Instrument
Who Is Like The Lord Our God?
*INVOCATION
CORPORATE CONFESSION
Leader: Almighty and Merciful Father, you have called us to be your people and have made us one body. Yet we have not lived like we are one body.
All: We have not loved one another as we ought. Selfish ambition has gripped us, and we have failed to look out for others’ interests above our own. Conceit has gripped us, and we have failed to associate with and care for those that are different from ourselves. We have not treated one another as those in whom Christ dwells. Forgive us for our offenses against you and go on to subdue everything in us that is contrary to your purposes. By the power of your Spirit make us a community that shows forth your acceptance, kindness and love. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
SILENT CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF PARDON 1 John 1:7

For 2022, we are continuing to provide a basic Family Worship plan to help enable our families to more regularly worship together during the week. In each weekly bulletin, we will provide a Daily Bible Reading plan from “A Daughter of the Reformation”, weekly questions from the Heidelberg Catechism, and a hymn for you to learn together.
Week 20:
Weekly Hymn: 305 Arise, My Soul Arise
Heidelberg Catechism
Q127 What does the sixth petition mean?
Answer: “And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one” means: By ourselves we are too weak to hold our own even for a moment. And our sworn enemies—the devil, the world, and our own flesh—never stop attacking us. And so, Lord, uphold us and make us strong with the strength of your Holy Spirit, so that we may not go down to defeat in this spiritual struggle, but may firmly resist our enemies until we finally win the complete victory.
Q128 What does your conclusion to this prayer mean?
Answer: “For the kingdom and the power and the glory are yours forever” means: We have made all these petitions of you because, as our all-powerful king, you are both willing and able to give us all that is good; and because your holy name, and not we ourselves, should receive all the praise, forever.
