We extend a warm welcome to all our visitors this morning! Visitors, please complete the Welcome card in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate, so we may know how best to minister to/with you. PRAYER OF CONFESSION
All: Most Holy God, our heavenly Father, we confess that You have redeemed us by Your sovereign grace. At one time we were dead in our trespasses and sins. We were blind and could not see. But, Father, You are rich in mercy. You caused us to be born again to a living hope. You sought us when we were strangers. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. It is not that we sought You, Father; rather, we confess freely that it was you who sought us. And You have called us to seek others as we have been sought. You have commanded us to preach the gospel to every creature. And, we have not sought others as we have been sought by You. Often we have not even cared. Our silence is sin. Our coldness is dishonoring to You. Forgive us, Father. Wash us afresh in the blood of the Lamb. And renew us by the Holy Spirit such that we will be changed into those who are burdened by the plight of the lost -a plight that we ourselves once were in. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
SILENT CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF PARDON Hebrews 9:27-28

Shorter Catechism–
- Q89 How is the Word made effectual to salvation? /
Answer: The Spirit of God makes the reading, but especially the preaching, of the Word, an effectual means of convincing and converting sinners, and of building them up in holiness and comfort, through faith, unto salvation.
- Q90 How is the Word to be read and heard, that it may become effectual to salvation? /
Answer: That the Word may become effectual to salvation, we must attend thereunto with diligence, preparation, and prayer; receive it with faith and love, lay it up in our hearts, and practice it in our lives.
